For even more winsome tales with delightful animals and good morals I would also recommend "Folk Tales" by the same author, Emilia V, which includes not only this story but "The Crafty Hedgehog" (my next favorite) as well as two other tales for a bargain price. My 3 year old daughter and I love this one ) great bedtime story when we are in the dark!
When I was a child this was one of the stories my mother read to us. It brings back fond memories and is, of course, a good reminder of the value of all things, large and small.
A wonderful classic to share with your children....or to read yourself. Thank you.
This was a cute traditional story very well written and illustrated in a colorful way. A wonderful little book that younger children should love to look at for the bright illustrations and older ones also for the easy and yet complete lesson of life.
This is such a beautiful story, its has lovely pictures in side the book and lovely to the eyes , children will love to read this book even if they are to young for words they can tell their own story as they go along.
I enjoyed this book, because it reminds me of a story I used to read
to my three children when they were very young. I am not sure who
loved the book more, them or me. I think my granddaughter Lili will
feel the same about this story. Can't wait to read it to her.

The lion is by far the bigger fiercer animal and he promises to let the mouse pass and the mouse will repay him one day.
A week later the lion is caught in a net and can't get out. The mouse sees what happened to the lion...
